Part 98432A113 is a short, stout locating pin: 5 mm diameter by only 10 mm long, in 18-8 stainless steel with a flat vent along the shaft. The vent flat lets air escape from a blind hole as the pin is pressed home, preventing the trapped-air pressure that otherwise resists installation or gradually pushes an unvented pin out of service position; the flat form is less prone to clogging than a spiral vent, with a modest trade-off in interference hold. The pin’s internally tapped end allows a screw or extraction tool to be threaded in and the pin pulled from its blind hole cleanly, protecting the hole finish. As with the rest of the range, 18-8 stainless provides corrosion resistance for wet environments and tolerance of mild cleaning chemicals encountered in tooling maintenance.
