About the 66105-1 AMP Type III+ Socket Contact
The TE Connectivity (AMP) 66105-1 is a crimp socket contact from the Multimate Type III+ series. It is a size 16 stamped-and-formed contact that accepts wire in the 24-20 AWG range and is supplied as loose-piece for hand or applicator crimping. The contact body is brass with gold plating in the mating area (TE’s designation notes 30 microinch gold over nickel), giving low, stable contact resistance over repeated mating cycles. Type III+ contacts are the termination system for TE’s CPC (Circular Plastic Connector), G-series and M-series rectangular connector families, into which they insert from the rear and lock into the housing cavities.
