About the Mixing Nozzle
This item is 3M part number 7100148756, a Scotch-Weld EPX static mixer. It is a helical type in white, which means the mixing element is a fixed spiral inside the barrel rather than a series of square baffles. Resin and hardener are forced through the spiral as the cartridge is dispensed, and the repeated division and recombination of the two streams produces a homogeneous mix at the tip with no moving parts. The nozzle fits 3M Scotch-Weld EPX Duo-Pak cartridges in the 48.5 mL and 50 mL sizes and is used with the manual or pneumatic EPX applicators. The tapered tip can be cut back to set bead size. Nozzles are single-use: adhesive cures inside the mixer, so a fresh one is fitted for each dispensing session.
