About the M.A. Ford 4.3mm Diameter Metric Fiberglass Router
This 4.3 mm cutting-diameter tool is the second-largest cutter in this group of M.A. Ford metric fiberglass routers — solid carbide, burr-toothed tools for abrasive glass-fibre composites whose bur end allows the cutter to plunge as well as profile. The 4.3 mm diameter provides clearance-fit routing around nominal 4 mm hardware and a substantially higher material-removal capability than the 2–3 mm detail sizes, while remaining small enough for hand-guided work in rotary tools and compact spindles. Its heavier carbide core resists the bending loads of deeper, faster feed routing, so it can be pushed through thick chopped-strand and woven laminates at rates that would deflect or snap the finer cutters, while the burr flute geometry continues to shear fibres cleanly at the cut edge.
