Description
6069-3MM Metric Floating Nut Plate M3 (3 x 0.5mm) — BOLTON SKU 60084.
About the 6069-3MM Metric Floating Nut Plate M3
The 6069-3MM floating nut plate is a metric anchor nut in size 3, carrying an M3 thread with a 0.5 mm pitch. A floating nut plate holds its threaded element in a retaining cage rather than fixing it rigidly, so the nut can shift slightly within the cage to take up tolerance between the fastener hole in the mating part and the nut position on the structure. That float is what allows panels and covers to be removed and refitted repeatedly without the fastener having to be aligned perfectly each time. The plate measures 23.2 mm long by 10.6 mm wide with a height of 3.2 mm, formed from 0.5 mm material. It is secured to the structure by two rivets of 2.5 mm (3/32 in) diameter at 17 mm spacing, giving a fixed hole pattern that can be drilled directly from the published dimensions.

Typical applications
An M3 floating nut plate belongs on light access panels, inspection covers, equipment trays and secondary structure where a blind captive thread is needed and the fastener will be removed many times over the service life. The 17 mm rivet pitch and 2.5 mm rivet size define a compact installation footprint, suiting narrow flanges and channel sections where a wider nut plate would not sit flat. The small M3 thread is generally used for securing lightweight covers and mounted components rather than load-carrying joints.
