The Stahlwille 52 range comprises 1/2 in (12.5 mm) square-drive hexagon sockets in chrome-plated HPQ high-performance steel, built to DIN 3124 / ISO 2725-1, ASME B107.5M and DIN EN 3709. This 52/24 1/2 in drive socket is the 24 mm across-flats variant, listed by Stahlwille under article number 03030024. Twenty-four millimetres corresponds to the across-flats dimension of an ISO metric M16 hex head, which is why the size appears in most heavy assembly and disassembly kits. The AS-Drive internal profile bears on the flats of the fastener rather than on its corners, which preserves the head finish on fasteners that will be refitted and reduces the risk of slip when a joint is seized.
