The 10956-N35 nylon hammer is a Stahlwille soft-face hammer supplied under article number 70171035. It has a Ø35 mm nylon striking face and an overall length of 290 mm. The head is moulded in Vestamid nylon, a shock-absorbing engineering polyamide, and is fitted to a hickory shaft. A nylon face deforms elastically on impact, so energy is delivered to the workpiece without the marking, burring or brinelling that a steel face causes on finished surfaces, and the same elasticity damps the shock reaching the user’s hand. The faces are interchangeable, which means the hammer is maintained by fitting a fresh nylon head rather than scrapping the tool; a replacement head is available separately for this diameter. Hickory is used for the handle because its grain structure absorbs repeated impact without splitting.
