Overview
The Pearson Model 2100 is a wideband current monitor. The conductor carrying the current to be measured is passed through the monitor’s aperture and the instrument produces a voltage proportional to that current – one volt per ampere in this model – at a 50 ohm BNC output, so the current waveform can be observed on an oscilloscope without breaking the circuit. Its useable rise time is 20 nanoseconds and its response extends from roughly 125 Hz to 20 MHz at the 3 dB points.

Applications
