MPM-430-G1-M60 suction filter for hydraulic pump protection
The MPM-430-G1-M60 suction filter belongs to MP Filtri’s MPA/MPM suction filter range, fitted inside the reservoir on the pump inlet line to keep coarse contamination out of the pump. The designation decodes directly: MPM identifies the version built with a magnetic column, which captures ferrous particles that a mesh alone would pass; size code 430 sets the housing; G1 specifies a GAS (BSP) threaded connection; and M60 specifies wire-mesh filter media with a 60 µm filtration rating. Flow through the element runs from outside to inside. An integral bypass valve opens at 30 kPa (0.3 bar) so that if the element loads up or the oil is cold and viscous, the pump is never starved of fluid. Typical applications
A 60 µm mesh is a coarse, pump-protection rating rather than a system-cleanliness rating — its job is to stop chips, scale and debris in the tank reaching the pump inlet, with fine filtration handled downstream on the pressure or return line.
