About the Blind Rivet Nut Semi-Hex M4x0.7 Stainless
This is a blind rivet nut carrying an M4 x 0.7 internal thread in an A4 stainless steel body with a semi-hexagonal shank. A blind rivet nut is set from one side only: the tool draws the shank up until the unthreaded section collapses into a bulge behind the panel, clamping the sheet between that bulge and the head and leaving a captive load-bearing thread in material far too thin to tap. The semi-hex form is the reason to choose this variant over a plain round body: the part-hexagonal section keys into a matching hexagonal hole so the insert cannot spin in the panel when a screw is later run in or torqued out, while the round remainder keeps the part easier to feed and set than a full hex. M4 x 0.7 is the standard ISO metric coarse pitch for M4. A4 designates the molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless class used where corrosion exposure is a consideration.
