Description

MLEB8360 ML86112 – Video Processing Video Evaluation Board — BOLTON SKU 72361.

About the MLEB8360 ML86112 Video Evaluation Board

The MLEB8360 video evaluation board is ROHM’s evaluation platform for the LAPIS ML86112 video decoder LSI. The board takes analogue composite video in NTSC or PAL format and converts it to MIPI CSI-2 or LVTTL digital output, exposing the decoder’s behaviour on real hardware before it is designed into a target system. The ML86112 itself carries a built-in single-channel 10-bit analogue-to-digital converter and accepts two differential composite video inputs or four inputs. On the board, analogue input and digital output connectors are brought out alongside dedicated control switches, and a mini USB Type-B connector allows the decoder to be configured over I2C from a PC. The board measures 120 x 120 mm, with overall dimensions of 133 mm wide x 133 mm deep x 18 mm high including connectors and switches, and is powered from a 12 V DC supply.

Typical applications

An evaluation board of this kind is used at the design-in stage rather than in service: bringing up and characterising the ML86112 before committing a schematic, checking analogue composite camera sources against MIPI CSI-2 or LVTTL receivers, and developing and debugging the I2C register configuration from a PC. Because the ML86112 is aimed at automotive-style analogue camera inputs, the board is typically used where legacy composite cameras must be brought into a modern digital image-processing chain.
