About the Filter Particulate 5N11 Non-Oil PET
This is a disposable pad-style particulate filter in the 5N11 pattern, made from polyester (PET) filter media. The N95 designation is a NIOSH classification under 42 CFR 84: an N-series filter is not resistant to oil, and the 95 denotes a minimum filtration efficiency of 95 % when tested against a sodium chloride aerosol of approximately 0.3 µm mass median aerodynamic diameter. A filter particulate n95 5n11 non-oil pad is therefore intended for non-oil-containing aerosols such as dusts, mists and fumes, and is not certified for oil-based aerosols, which require R- or P-series media. In the 5N11 form factor the filter is a soft pad rather than a rigid cartridge: it seats over a compatible gas and vapour cartridge or respirator facepiece and is held in place by a filter retainer, allowing particulate media to be replaced independently of the chemical cartridge underneath.

Typical applications
Pad-style N95 media of this pattern is used where a wearer already has a half or full facepiece fitted with gas and vapour cartridges and needs to add particulate protection — for example spray application of non-oil-based coatings, sanding and surface preparation, or handling of dry powders. Because the pad is replaced separately from the cartridge, it suits environments where particulate loading is heavy but chemical exposure is intermittent. Assigned protection factors depend on the facepiece used and on a completed fit test, so respirator selection should follow the employer’s written respiratory protection programme.
