The Stahlwille 775/100 TORSIOMAX hand tool is a torque screwdriver covering 400 to 1000 cNm — that is, 4 to 10 Nm — with a 6.3 mm (1/4 in) tool mount for bits and insert tools. A torque screwdriver is used where a small threaded fastener carries a specified tightening value: the tool is set to the required figure and releases, or signals, once that value is reached, so the joint is neither left slack nor pulled past the point where the thread or the component beneath it starts to suffer. The 6.3 mm mount is the common hexagon bit interface, which means one tool can drive slotted, cross-recess, hexagon-socket and Torx bits as the fastener requires.
