The Stahlwille 18120001 1/4 hand tool is the No. 4008 ratcheting bit screwdriver in size 1, 250 mm overall. It accepts screwdriver bits with a 1/4 in external hex shank to DIN 3126 / ISO 1173 form C 6.3, held by a magnet in the internal hex bit mount so bits can be changed one-handed. The ratchet mechanism has 48 teeth, giving a 7.5° working angle, and direction is set to clockwise, anticlockwise or locked by twisting the ring below the head. A knurled spin section on the shaft lets a screw be run down quickly before the ratchet is used for final tightening. The two-component handle is shaped for grip under load and contains a compartment that stores up to six bits with the tool. The tool is made in Germany.

Typical applications
A 250 mm ratcheting bit driver reaches screws set back inside enclosures, chassis and equipment racks where a stubby driver cannot get a purchase and a powered driver is too coarse. The 7.5° working angle is short enough to keep working when the handle can only be rocked between adjacent components. Because the handle carries six bits, it works as a self-contained driver for field maintenance and inspection kits, where mixed screw heads are met and carrying a full bit case is impractical.
