About the KNIPEX Super Knips Electronics Side Cutt Hand
The KNIPEX 78 03 125 Electronic Super Knips is a precision cutter for the finest cutting work in electronics and fine mechanics. Its cutting edges are ground and carry no bevel, and the precisely formed tips will cut wires lying flush against a surface from Ø 0.2 mm — the case that defeats a conventional side cutter, whose bevelled edge lifts the wire before it shears. The cut is a shear cut with a controlled micro offset between the edges, which protects them and keeps the cut clean on very thin conductors. Rated cutting capacity is Ø 0.2–1.6 mm on soft wire and Ø 1.0 mm on medium-hard wire, with a cutting edge hardness of approximately 54 HRC in INOX tool steel. The joint uses a stainless steel rivet. This KNIPEX Super Knips hand tool has an opening spring and an opening limiter, and multi-component grips.

Typical applications
Precision cutters of this class are used for trimming component leads flush to a board, cutting fine hook-up wire and cable ties in wiring looms, and dressing conductors during harness build and rework. The ability to cut a Ø 0.2 mm wire lying against a surface makes it a board-level tool rather than a general workshop cutter. Note that this is the standard version — ESD and insulated variants are separate KNIPEX article numbers and should be specified explicitly if required.
