About the DYKEM Cross-Check Torque Seal Tamper-Pro Hand Tool
A torque seal is a marking compound applied across a fastener and the surface it is tightened against once final torque has been reached. It sets to a brittle film, so that any later rotation of the fastener breaks the mark and leaves a visible discontinuity between the two halves of the stripe. That gives an inspector a fast, unaided check on whether a joint has moved or been disturbed since it was signed off, without re-applying a torque wrench and disturbing the joint in the process. Typical applications
Torque-seal marking is used on assembly and maintenance lines to record that a fastener has been tightened and inspected, and on in-service equipment so that loosening is picked up during a walk-round rather than at strip-down.
