About the SBS-8 Battery
The EnerSys PowerSafe SBS-8 is a valve-regulated sealed lead-acid battery with a nominal voltage of 12 V and a nominal capacity of 8.0 Ah. It belongs to EnerSys’ PowerSafe SBS range, which is built on Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology: thin, high-purity lead plates that give high energy density, low internal resistance for high-rate discharge and recharge, and long storage life — EnerSys quotes a shelf life of up to two years without recharging for the range. The sealed, non-spillable construction needs no water addition, and published data for the SBS-8 gives an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +50 °C.
