Description
Stanley E-46532 Try Square, 200 mm — BOLTON SKU 57606.
About the Stanley E-46532 Try Square 200 mm
The Stanley E-46532 Try technical component is Stanley’s 200 mm try square. The tool is a straight blade rigidly fixed at 90 degrees to a heavier stock; pressing the stock against a datum edge and scribing along the blade produces a line square to that edge, while sighting along the blade laid against a face reveals any deviation from square. The 200 mm blade is the mid-size option in the range: long enough to reach across boards and medium sections that a 150 mm blade cannot span, and still short enough to be worked comfortably one-handed. Only blade length distinguishes this reference from the shorter and longer squares carrying the same construction — the 90 degree reference and the fixed blade-and-stock arrangement are common to all of them. Length is measured from the working face of the stock to the tip of the blade.

Typical applications
The 200 mm size is the general-purpose choice for joinery and light fabrication: squaring the ends of medium-width stock, setting out panel cuts, and checking that saw and router fences stand perpendicular to the table. Its reach lets squareness be verified across a typical rail or stile in a single pass, which is useful during assembly when a frame has to be pulled square and held before fasteners or adhesive take up.
