Stanley E-46534 Try Square, 250 mm — BOLTON SKU 57608.
About the Stanley E-46534 Try Square 250 mm
The Stanley E-46534 Try technical component is the 250 mm blade length in Stanley’s try square range. Like the rest of the family it is a fixed 90 degree gauge: a blade permanently set square to a thicker stock, used both to transfer a right angle onto work and to test whether an existing angle is true. In use the stock is registered hard against a finished edge and the blade either guides the marking knife or pencil, or is laid flat on the adjoining face so that any gap under the blade shows the error. The 250 mm blade extends the reach beyond what the 150 mm and 200 mm squares can cover, which is the reason to specify it; the trade-off is that a longer blade is heavier at the tip and less convenient inside restricted openings. Blade length is measured from the face of the stock.

Typical applications
At 250 mm the square reaches across cabinet sides, wide boards and sheet-goods offcuts that shorter blades cannot cover in one setting. It is used for laying out cross-cuts on wide stock, squaring carcass corners during glue-up, and checking the tables and fences of static machinery during setup. The extra reach also makes it a practical check on fabricated brackets and light weldments where squareness has to be confirmed over a longer run than a small square can span.
