About the M22759/16-20-2 Aerospace Wire
M22759/16 is a slash sheet of the MIL-W-22759 / SAE AS22759 family covering single-conductor airframe and general-purpose hook-up wire with a tin-plated copper conductor and extruded, cross-linked modified ETFE (ethylene tetrafluoroethylene) insulation. In this part number 20 is the conductor size in AWG and the final digit is the insulation colour code, here red, matching the item designation; the conductor is stranded from 19 strands. The /16 construction is rated 600 V with a temperature range of -55 to +150 degrees C. Compared with the lighter /32 slash sheet, which uses the same stranding but a thinner single-layer wall, /16 carries a thicker insulation wall and is treated as the more robust general-purpose option where weight is less critical than mechanical protection. Cross-linked ETFE gives cut-through, abrasion and fluid resistance in a thin, tough wall.
