About the M85049/69-11W Backshell
The M85049/69-11W is a straight shrink-boot adapter backshell to the M85049/69 military standard, in shell size 11 with the W finish code. Shrink-boot adapters thread onto the rear of a circular connector and provide a machined profile onto which a heat-shrinkable boot is recovered, sealing and strain-relieving the cable-to-connector transition. Parts to this standard are machined from aluminium alloy and are intended for MIL-DTL-38999 Series III and IV connectors, using a spin-coupling attachment. The W finish code denotes cadmium plate, olive drab. Published dimensional data for size 11 gives an M15 x 1 rear-accessory thread with a maximum length of approximately 18.0 mm and a maximum diameter of approximately 18.2 mm. Matching heat-shrink boots are selected separately to suit the cable diameter and boot profile.
