About the M85049/69-13W Backshell
The M85049/69-13W is a straight shrink boot adapter backshell manufactured to the M85049/69 military specification sheet, part of the SAE AS85049 connector-accessory family. It installs on the rear accessory threads of MIL-DTL-38999 Series III and Series IV circular connectors and presents a grooved lip over which a heat-shrinkable boot is recovered, so the harness can be sealed and mechanically supported where it leaves the connector. Adapters in this family are machined from aluminium alloy with a rotatable coupling ring, allowing the accessory to be torqued without rotating the wire bundle.
