Typical applications
Heat-shrink tubing at this size is applied over soldered and crimped joints, over conductor breakouts and over the tails of terminations, to insulate them and to add mechanical and abrasion protection where the wire leaves a fitting. In harness work it also carries printed circuit identification. Recover it with a controlled hot-air source rather than a flame, so the material reaches its recovery temperature evenly across the circumference without scorching.
