Description
SSH-003T-P0.2-H Crimp Socket Contact, 28-32 AWG, Tin — BOLTON SKU 53802.
About the SSH-003T-P0.2-H Crimp Socket Contact, 28 Crimp Conta
This is the contact only — the metal socket terminal that is crimped onto the conductor and then inserted into a separate moulded housing. A socket, or female, contact receives the pin from the mating half, so the pairing of socket contact to socket housing has to be correct before an assembly is built. The SSH-003T-P0.2-H Socket 28-32 crimp contact accepts conductors from 28 to 32 AWG, which is a very fine range: these are signal wires inside compact assemblies, not power conductors, and the crimp barrel is correspondingly small. That makes tooling decisive. A crimp at this gauge must be formed with the applicator or hand tool and die specified for the contact, because an over- or under-formed barrel on a 32 AWG conductor is the classic cause of an intermittent joint that passes an initial check and fails later under vibration. The contact is tin plated. Confirm the mating housing reference and your crimp tooling on the RFQ.

Typical applications
Fine-gauge crimp sockets of this kind populate internal wire-to-board and wire-to-wire harnesses in compact electronics — control boards, sensor leads, display and camera interconnects, and instrument sub-assemblies where the whole connector footprint has to stay small. The 28-32 AWG range confines it to low-current signal duty. Contacts are normally bought alongside their matching housings and the correct crimp tooling so that a repeatable termination can be produced and inspected.
