About the 3M 5930P Acrylic Foam Tape, 12.7mm
3M 5930P is a double-coated tape from the 3M VHB family, built on closed-cell acrylic foam technology with a multi-purpose modified acrylic adhesive and supplied on a paper liner. The tape is black, 0.8 mm (32 mil) thick, and this line item is the 0.5 in (12.7 mm) width supplied in a 33 m roll. Per 3M’s product data, the conformable foam core maintains contact between substrates even when they are slightly mismatched, and the adhesive bonds to a broad range of high, medium and medium-low surface energy substrates including metals, glass and a wide variety of plastics and paints, including many powder-coated finishes. 3M quotes tolerance of long-term service temperatures up to 93 °C. VHB-type tapes cure nothing — they bond on application, allowing immediate handling in assembly processes.

Typical applications
