Description

VOS617A-3X001T-Ic; Optocoupler 1-Channel Phototransistor 3750vrms Ctr 100-200% O/P 80v 50ma (Ssop-4) Vishay VOS617A-3X00 — BOLTON SKU 67026.

About the VOS617A-3X001T Optocoupler, 1-Channel SSOP-4

The Vishay VOS617A series is a single-channel optocoupler in which a gallium arsenide (GaAs) infrared emitting diode is optically coupled to a silicon planar phototransistor detector, with both elements housed in a four-pin 50 mil lead-pitch mini-flat package (SSOP-4). The family is documented by Vishay for high current transfer ratio at low input current, low coupling capacitance, a low-profile package and a high collector-emitter voltage of V(CEO) = 80 V. The -3 suffix denotes the current transfer ratio selection bin of 100% to 200% measured at an input current of 5 mA. The device carries an isolation test voltage of 3750 V(RMS), the value stated in the product designation. Optocouplers of this construction transfer a logic or analogue signal across a galvanic barrier without a shared electrical path.

Typical applications

Phototransistor-output optocouplers are used to isolate control and signalling paths between circuits at different potentials — for example between low-voltage logic and switched loads, or across a power-supply feedback loop. In defence and aerospace electronics they appear in interface, telemetry and ground-support boards, and in UAV avionics where noise isolation between subsystems is required. Electronics MRO benches hold isolation devices of this type for board-level repair.
