About the PP002674 Lacing Tape, MIL-T-43435 White
MIL-T-43435 is the military specification for lacing and tying tape and covers five types of flat braided tape. Type I is the nylon (polyamide) construction, braided flat from high-tenacity continuous-filament yarn, and is the type normally used for lacing and tying electrical wire and cable bundles. Finish B is a non-flaking microcrystalline fungicidal wax impregnation, which stiffens the tape slightly for handling and improves knot retention so that ties do not creep loose in service. The flat braid is preferred over round cord because it spreads its clamping load across a wider footprint on the bundle, reducing the risk of insulation damage. MIL-T-43435 Type I has since been superseded for procurement by the commercial item description A-A-52080 Type I, which covers the same flat braided nylon tape. This item is supplied in white.

Typical applications
Lacing tape is used to tie and support wire bundles in aircraft, vehicle and shipboard harnesses, to secure breakouts and service loops, and to lace harnesses onto boards during build. It remains standard practice in aerospace and defence harness shops and in MRO work where cable ties are not permitted.
