About the CBW57-PS-10A Breaker, 1-Pole 10A 250VAC
The CBW57-PS-10A thermal circuit breaker is a single-pole device for panel mounting, rated 10 A at 250 V AC with an interrupting capacity of 1 kA. A thermal breaker of this type trips on the heating effect of the current in a bimetallic element, so it rides through brief inrush while still protecting the circuit against a sustained overload — which is why thermal devices are preferred over fast fuses on motor, lamp and transformer loads. Being panel mounted, it is fitted through a cut-out in the enclosure face so the actuator is accessible from outside and the circuit can be reset or manually opened without opening the cabinet. The single-pole configuration interrupts one conductor only. Actuator style, terminal type, mounting cut-out and approvals should be confirmed against the manufacturer’s datasheet at quotation stage.
