About the M27500-26TG4T14 Cable, 4-Core 26 AWG, ETFE
M27500 is the general-purpose airframe and avionics multi-conductor cable specification, and one of the few product families whose entire construction can be read from the part number. Here, 26 is the conductor gauge in AWG; TG identifies the basic wire as SAE AS22759/18, an ETFE-insulated, tin-plated copper aerospace wire; 4 is the number of conductors in the cable; T is the overall shield, a tin-plated copper round braid rated to 150 °C; and 14 is the jacket code for extruded white ETFE, also rated to 150 °C. The result is a compact, shielded and jacketed four-core cable in which every layer is qualified to the same 150 °C class. ETFE is used throughout because it gives thin-wall insulation, saving weight and volume in dense airframe looms.

Typical applications
A shielded four-core in 26 AWG is a signal-level cable rather than a power feeder: it suits sensor and transducer runs, discrete and serial data links, encoder and resolver leads, and instrumentation harnesses inside airframes and avionics bays. The braid shield is there to keep radiated interference out of low-level signals and to give a defined termination point at connector backshells, while the 150 °C ETFE jacket allows routing near warm zones without derating the loom.
