About the PUDP-12V-S Housing, 12 Position, 2mm Pitch
The PUDP-12V-S receptacle housing is the cable-side shell of JST’s PUD wire-to-board system, holding twelve crimp contacts in two rows on a 2 mm pitch. It is a free-hanging housing: contacts are crimped to conductors in the range 28-22 AWG and then inserted from the rear until they latch. The housing is moulded in polybutylene terephthalate in a natural finish and measures 8.3 mm wide by 14 mm long. Keying features guide the shell onto the matching PUD header so it can only enter one way, and a secure locking device retains it once mated, confirmed by an audible click. The series is designed to give a stable electrical connection at low insertion force and is specified to hold that connection under vibration, pinching and dry-circuit conditions. Contacts are ordered separately to match the wire gauge used.

Typical applications
This housing terminates the loom end of a twelve-way internal interconnect — sensor and control harnesses inside instrument and equipment enclosures, board-to-board tails, and cabling between a controller and its front panel or display. Because contacts crimp to 28-22 AWG, the same connector can carry a mix of fine signal wire and slightly heavier supply conductors. The audible-click latch and keyed entry make it suitable for assemblies that are built or serviced quickly and must be verified as fully seated without a visual inspection.
