Description
323989 PIDG Ring Tongue Terminal, 24-20 AWG, M4 / #8 — BOLTON SKU 61199.
About the TE 323989 PIDG Ring Terminal, 24-20 AWG
The 323989 PIDG Ring Tongue Terminal 24-20 AWG is a TE Connectivity (AMP) crimp terminal from the Pre-Insulated Diamond Grip (PIDG) family, sized for 24–20 AWG conductors and an M4 or #8 stud. The closed barrel is copper with a tin finish and contains internal serrations that bite into the conductor during crimping for contact and tensile strength; a copper support sleeve extends under the nylon insulation to grip the wire insulation and resist flexure fraying at the crimp exit. TE states that PIDG terminals meet or exceed the requirements of MIL-T-7928, Type II, Class 1 and 2, and lists a maximum accepted insulation diameter of 2.54 mm for this part. The insulation sleeve is natural (uncoloured) nylon, the colour coding used across this PIDG wire-size range.

Typical applications
PIDG ring terminals in this small-wire range terminate instrumentation, control and lighting circuits onto M4 or #8 terminal studs in airframe, panel-box and equipment wiring where a MIL-qualified, insulation-supported crimp is required. The ring tongue keeps the termination captive on the stud even if the securing hardware loosens, which is why it is preferred over spade styles in vibration-prone installations.
