About the Push-In Straight Fitting, 1/4 in MNPT
This is a straight male push-to-connect fitting joining a 1/4 in male NPT threaded port to 8 mm outside-diameter tubing. The push-in (push-to-connect) mechanism grips the tube automatically on insertion via an internal collet, allowing tool-free connection and release of pneumatic tubing. The body is nickel-plated brass, which resists surface corrosion and galling better than bare brass, and the internal seal is NBR (nitrile rubber), a standard elastomer for compressed-air service with good resistance to oils. The male NPT thread is a tapered pipe thread common on North American and mixed-standard pneumatic equipment.
