Titebond III Ultimate Wood Glue, Franklin International product number 1414 in the 16 fl oz (473 mL) bottle, is a one-part wood adhesive with a waterproof formula that passes the ANSI/HPVA Type I water-resistance specification. Unlike traditional two-part or solvent-based waterproof wood adhesives it cleans up with water while wet, is solvent free, and the manufacturer states it is approved by the FDA for indirect food contact, which is why it is a standard choice for cutting boards. Franklin also cites strong initial tack, a longer open assembly time than its Titebond II sibling and a lower minimum application temperature, with clamping pressure chosen to bring the joint faces tightly together.
