About the FP301-3 16-CLEAR-SPOOL
This spool carries 3M FP-301 heat shrink tubing in the 3/16 in nominal size, clear. FP-301 is 3M’s thin-wall, flexible polyolefin tubing with a 2:1 shrink ratio: the 3/16 in expanded diameter recovers to approximately half that once shrunk. Minimum full-recovery temperature is 100 °C, and the recovered tubing is rated for continuous operation from -55 °C to +135 °C on 600 V-rated applications. The tubing is flame retardant, mechanically tough, resists cold flow and is easy to mark. FP-301 is UL Listed (E-39100), CSA certified and qualified to SAE AS23053/5 — the clear colour being Class 2 under that specification. The clear wall lets printed wire markers, splices and terminations remain visible after insulation.

Typical applications
Clear 3/16 in FP-301 is used over wire-identification markers, soldered splices and component leads where the insulation must not hide what is underneath — common in avionics and instrumentation harnesses that require inspectable joints. The continuous spool format suits production benches cutting many short lengths.
