Description
Overview
The 19003 is Holybro’s digital airspeed sensor built around the MS4525DO differential-pressure element, supplied as a set with the PT40 pitot tube. The module reports differential pressure over I2C at 14-bit pressure resolution, and the 1 psi range is the standard band used for airspeed sensing on small unmanned aircraft. The sensor board is small and light enough to mount close to the pitot line, which keeps tubing runs short.
Technical data
- Sensor element: MS4525DO
- Pressure range: 1 psi
- Interface: I2C
- I2C address: 0x28H
- Pressure resolution: 14 bit
- Temperature resolution: 11 bit
- Update time: 0.5 ms
- Module dimensions: 17 x 23 x 13 mm
- Module weight: 4.1 g
- Pitot tube supplied: PT40, 40 cm rubber tubing
Applications
Airspeed sensing on fixed-wing and VTOL unmanned aircraft, where true airspeed rather than ground speed is needed to hold stall margin, trim cruise and correct for wind. A differential-pressure module of this type is plumbed to the pitot and static ports and read by the flight controller over its I2C bus.
