About the Stahlwille 52/27 Socket, 1/2in Drive 27 mm
The Stahlwille 52 series is a 1/2 in (12.5 mm) square-drive hexagon socket range machined from HPQ high-performance steel and chrome-plated, conforming to DIN 3124 / ISO 2725-1, ASME B107.5M and DIN EN 3709. This 52/27 1/2 in drive socket is the 27 mm across-flats size, carried by Stahlwille under article number 03030027. The bore uses the AS-Drive profile, which moves the contact area away from the corners of the fastener hexagon and onto the flats, so torque is transferred through the strongest part of the head and rounding is less likely on tight or corroded fasteners. Manufacturing tolerances are held close enough that the socket seats fully on the hex before load is applied. At 27 mm the socket sits at the upper end of the hand-tool range for this drive and is normally used with a breaker bar, long ratchet or torque wrench.

Typical applications
