A flap disc carries overlapping abrasive cloth flaps rather than a solid bonded wheel, so it grinds and blends in one pass and wears back to fresh grit as it is used. A80 gives the abrasive type and grit size, with 80 grit sitting toward the finishing rather than stock-removal end of the range.
