Description

TT-SX 9001 – Active Differential Probe — BOLTON SKU 66567.

About the TT-SX 9001 – Active Differential Probe

The P0008390 active differential probe supplied under this reference is the OMICRON Lab TT-SX 9001. It measures the voltage between two points in a circuit without either point being referenced to earth. Attenuation is switchable between x10 and x100, giving differential input ranges of ±70 V and ±700 V respectively, with a -3 dB bandwidth of 30 MHz and DC accuracy of ±2%. Input impedance is 5 MΩ, which limits loading on the circuit under test. The maximum common-mode input voltage is ±700 V (DC + AC peak), and each input to ground carries a 1000 V CAT III rating to IEC 61010-031:2015. The probe connects to any oscilloscope with a 1 MΩ BNC input and can be powered from the oscilloscope USB port, from internal batteries, or from a power pack. Delivery includes a pair of probe hooks (red and black) and a 100 cm USB-A to USB-C power cord.

Typical applications

Differential probes of this class are used wherever a waveform has to be captured between two live nodes rather than between a node and earth — switching-node and gate-drive waveforms in power converters, inverter legs in motor drives, and DC-bus or battery-string measurements. The ±700 V range on the x100 setting with 30 MHz bandwidth suits switch-mode power supply and inverter development on the bench, while the x10 setting gives finer resolution on lower-voltage control and signal nodes. The 1000 V CAT III input rating allows the probe to be taken into installation environments where transient energy has to be accounted for.
