Description
RESPIRATOR,HALF FACEPIECE,7502,MED,SIL — BOLTON SKU 69274.
About the RESPIRATOR,HALF FACEPIECE,7502,MED,SIL
This is a reusable half-facepiece respirator body in the widely used 7500-series pattern: a silicone faceseal covering the nose and mouth, an exhalation valve, a four-point head harness that can be dropped down without removing the mask from the neck, and a twin bayonet connection so a matched pair of filters or cartridges is fitted either side. Within that pattern the designation identifies the size, and 7502 is the medium: 7501 is small and 7503 is large. Size selection is not a comfort preference. The protection actually achieved is set by the faceseal, not by the filter, so the medium body should be issued only to wearers who have passed a fit test in that size, and a wearer who fails on medium is moved to small or large rather than tightening the harness. Silicone is specified where the mask is worn for extended periods or cleaned frequently. Filters and cartridges are not included and are selected separately for the contaminant.

Typical applications
The medium body is the size held in the largest quantity in a general PPE store, because it fits the widest band of adult face dimensions and is therefore the default issued at fit-test sessions before small or large are tried. It is used with particulate filters for dust, grinding and abrasive work, or with gas and vapour cartridges for solvent, paint and adhesive operations. Because the body is reusable, it is issued personally to a wearer and cleaned and inspected between uses.
