Description
[3HDX] Flight Stand 60 Engine Test Stand — BOLTON SKU 68733.
About the [3HDX] Flight Stand 60 Engine Test
The 3HDX Flight Stand 60 Engine test stand is an instrumented rig for measuring the output of an engine or powertrain under controlled conditions. At its centre is a force measurement unit rated to 60 kgf thrust and 30 N·m torque, supplied with ASTM calibration, mounted on an anti-vibration mechanical support structure with an engine mounting plate. Measurement is handled by the Flight Stand DAQ, which provides eight analogue inputs and three servo inputs and logs at 1000 Hz, with two thermocouples, a fibre-optic RPM sensor, an airspeed pressure sensor and a fuel flow sensor supplied as standard instrumentation. The accompanying software gives real-time plots, user-configurable safety cutoffs and selectable units, manual and automated throttle control, and flight replay testing by importing a .csv profile so a recorded mission can be re-run on the bench. Up to eight powertrains can be tested together for distributed propulsion work. Control can be exercised wirelessly, and a Python API allows PID control loops, third-party analogue sensor integration and variable-pitch propeller control.

Typical applications
A 60 kgf / 30 N·m unit sits in the range used for UAV and light propulsion development, where thrust and torque have to be resolved together to derive propeller efficiency rather than thrust alone. Fuel flow and thermocouple channels alongside RPM make it suitable for combustion engine characterisation as well as electric powertrains. Flight replay from .csv lets a recorded duty cycle be reproduced on the bench for endurance or failure investigation, and the eight-powertrain capability supports distributed propulsion layouts where individual units must be compared under identical conditions.
