This is the small body in the 7500-series reusable half-facepiece pattern — a silicone faceseal covering the nose and mouth, an exhalation valve, a four-point drop-down head harness and a twin bayonet connection for a matched pair of filters or cartridges. The number in the designation is the size code: 7501 is the smallest of the three, below 7502 medium and 7503 large. The small body has a shorter faceseal and a narrower nose section, which is what allows it to seal on wearers with smaller facial dimensions, where a medium bridges across the cheeks and lifts at the sides. Fitting a smaller body is decided by fit-test result rather than by appearance, because a wearer who cannot seal a medium will not be made safe by pulling the harness tighter. Silicone is specified for extended wear and repeated cleaning. Filters and cartridges are ordered separately to suit the contaminant.
