About the 3M 6521 Fine Line Tape
This is 3M fine line tape supplied under product number 6521 in a 6 mm width, listed as 3M 6521 Fine industrial adhesive tape; within this fine line family the 6520 and 6521 references differ by tape width. At 6 mm the tape presents roughly twice the bonded width of the 3 mm size, which gives a firmer hold along the masked edge and makes the tape easier to lay straight over a long run, at the cost of the very tight radii the narrower size can follow. Typical applications
The 6 mm width suits longer straight separations and gentle curves — panel splits, wider stripe layouts and boundary lines that run the length of a component. It is also easier to lift in one continuous pull than the narrowest widths, which helps when a long masked edge has to be released without tearing.
