About the 3M VHB Tape 4941 Grey 19
3M’s VHB range is a family of double-sided acrylic foam tapes in which a viscoelastic foam core carries pressure-sensitive adhesive on both faces, so that load is spread across the whole bonded area rather than concentrated at fastener points. Supplied as a 3M VHB Tape industrial adhesive under the manufacturer designation 4941, this roll is grey, 19 mm wide and 33 m long, with a release liner removed at the point of application. The 19 mm width sets the bond-line width available to the designer, while the 33 m roll length determines how much continuous joint can be laid before a splice is needed. Designation 4941 is not interchangeable with other VHB references such as 5952, LSE-110 or the GPH series — core construction, adhesive chemistry and temperature behaviour differ between grades. Typical applications
A 19 mm bond line is a common width for panel, trim, stiffener and bracket bonding where a continuous adhesive joint is used in place of rivets or screws and the fixing must remain hidden. The 33 m roll suits repeat production or refit work where several assemblies are bonded from one roll. Grey is generally chosen where the bond line sits in a shadow gap or behind a joint and a neutral colour is preferred to black.
