About the 3M VHB Tape LSE-110 19 mm
VHB tapes bond by pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive on both faces of an acrylic foam core, giving a continuous joint rather than a set of point fixings. In this 3M VHB Tape industrial adhesive the LSE element of the designation identifies 3M’s low-surface-energy series, the variant developed for substrates that ordinary tapes wet out poorly, and the full reference LSE-110 must be quoted rather than the LSE family alone. It is supplied 19 mm wide on a 33 m roll. Surface energy, not tape width, is normally the deciding factor in choosing this series: a joint that fails on an untreated polyolefin or a powder-coated surface is usually a wetting problem rather than a strength problem. Typical applications
The low-surface-energy series is specified where parts are moulded in plastics that resist adhesion, or where a coating rather than bare metal forms the bonding face and a standard VHB grade has been found to peel.
