About the Loctite 2701 Threadlocker 50 ml
Loctite 2701 is a threadlocking adhesive supplied in a 50 ml container. Threadlockers are single-component anaerobic adhesives: they remain liquid while exposed to air and cure once confined between close-fitting metal surfaces, which is exactly the condition inside an assembled threaded joint. Applied to the thread before assembly, the Loctite 2701 Threadlocker industrial adhesive fills the clearance between male and female threads and cures to a solid, so the joint resists the self-loosening that vibration and thermal cycling would otherwise cause, and the cured film also blocks the path that moisture would take into the thread. Threadlockers are graded by strength, which determines whether the joint can later be broken with hand tools or will need heat and impact to release; the grade governs disassembly practice, so it must be confirmed from the current Henkel technical data sheet before the product is specified into a maintenance procedure. Substrate, cure time, gap fill and service temperature should be checked the same way.
