About the Deutsch DT04-6P-C015 DT Series Receptacl Connector
The Deutsch DT04-6P-C015 DT connector is the six-position receptacle housing in the DT range, supplied in grey and designated for 16 AWG conductors. The DEUTSCH DT series is an environmentally sealed thermoplastic connector family used in vehicle, industrial and defence wiring harnesses. DT04 identifies the receptacle half and P identifies a housing loaded with pin contacts, so it mates with the six-way DT06-6S plug carrying sockets. At six cavities the receptacle becomes a genuine equipment interface rather than a simple joint: an entire module can be disconnected at one point, which is why this size is so often the fixed half on a control box or a removable assembly. A wedgelock is required and is pressed into the mating face once the pins are loaded, keeping all six aligned and providing secondary retention behind the cavity fingers. Pin contacts and the six-way wedgelock are ordered separately from the housing.

Typical applications
Six-way receptacles are specified where a replaceable module or subsystem has to be disconnected as a unit: control boxes, lighting clusters, small actuators with feedback, and instrumentation pods. On deployable equipment they define the break point between a permanent platform harness and equipment that is fitted for a particular role. Because the pins remain with the fixed side, the module can be exchanged in the field without disturbing the platform wiring behind it.
