This item is an engineered wood panel in the standard full-sheet format of 1220 mm × 2440 mm (4 ft × 8 ft) at 18 mm thickness, listed under reference MF04818 as MDF board. Medium-density fibreboard is manufactured by hot-pressing wood fibres with a resin binder into a dense, uniform panel with no grain direction, voids or knots. The resulting sheet machines cleanly — it can be sawn, routed, drilled and edge-profiled with ordinary woodworking tooling — and presents a smooth, flat face that takes paint, laminate and veneer well. The 18 mm thickness is the common general-purpose gauge for furniture, fixtures and workshop construction. Grade, density, formaldehyde class and any moisture-resistant treatment vary by manufacturer and should be confirmed at quotation stage against the intended use.
