About the SYFGi40-1618-PH2 Corecell I40 PH2, 3x965x1220mm
Gurit Corecell I is a general-purpose structural SAN foam core with a fine, homogeneous cell structure. This item is the I40 grade supplied in 3 mm thick sheets measuring 965 by 1220 mm, giving 1.18 m² of coverage per sheet. The PH2 designation identifies the perforation pattern: bleeder holes are drilled on a 25 by 25 mm grid across the sheet. That comparatively close hole spacing gives a high hole count per square metre, which shortens the distance resin has to travel through the core during infusion and helps air escape from between the skin and the core face. At 3 mm the sheet is thin enough to conform to gentle curvature, so it is normally used as a lightweight separator between laminate skins rather than as a deep structural core.

Typical applications
Thin perforated core of this grade is used where a sandwich panel needs stiffness without significant added thickness, for example in equipment enclosures, hatch and locker panels and lightweight structural covers. The 25 by 25 mm bleeder pattern suits resin infusion and vacuum bagging where consistent through-thickness flow is wanted across a large panel area. Sheets of 965 by 1220 mm are a convenient size for hand-cut kitting of small and medium panels.
