Description
RG178 20CM Ufl/IPX/IPEX to SMA Female Adapter Cable — BOLTON SKU 60926.
About the RG178 U.FL/IPX/IPEX to SMA Female Adapter Cable
This is a short coaxial adapter lead, commonly called a pigtail, built on RG178 cable with a U.FL connector on one end and an SMA female connector on the other. RG178 is a thin flexible 50 Ω coaxial cable, which is why it is the standard choice for these assemblies: it routes easily inside a compact enclosure without stressing the miniature connector. The U.FL interface, also sold under the names IPX, IPEX, MHF, AMC and UMCC, is the miniature board-mount RF connector used on wireless modules, GNSS receivers and mini-PCIe cards. The pigtail carries that signal out to a panel- or chassis-mounted SMA interface so a standard antenna or RF cable can be attached. The assembly length here is 20 cm. Whether the SMA end is a bulkhead mounting style should be confirmed on the enquiry, as both plain and bulkhead versions exist in this format.

Typical applications
U.FL to SMA pigtails are used to bring an RF path from a module’s miniature board connector out to an external antenna interface — typical in UAV and UAS payload integration, telemetry and GNSS installations, radio and datalink equipment, and test setups on the bench. They are also used in MRO and integration work when an antenna interface has to be relocated to a panel.
