About the PC8-01 Straight Push-In Fitting, 8mm x R1/8
PC-series push-in fittings use a two-part code in which the first figure is the tube outside diameter and the second the male thread size, so PC8-01 denotes an 8 mm outside diameter tube connection to an R (PT / BSPT) 1/8 taper male thread in a straight configuration. It is a one-touch or push-to-connect design: the tube is pushed through a gripping collet and sealed on an internal O-ring, and pressing the release ring frees the tube by hand with no special tools. Bodies in this family are commonly supplied in nickel-plated brass with an external hexagon for spanner tightening, and the taper thread is usually supplied with a pre-applied sealant coating. The fitting is intended for polyurethane, nylon and polyethylene pneumatic tubing. Working pressure and temperature limits vary by manufacturer and should be confirmed against the datasheet of the brand offered.
